What's The Difference? - Discs, Ovals and Rounds

This is one of the most frequent questions we have from customers about Styrofoam. What's the difference betwen a disc, and oval and a round disc shape.

We admit, it can sometimes be hard to tell the difference so here's a page to help you out!

  1. Disc - (Picture one) a disc is perfectly round (circlular) in shape with two sides flattened. The best way to describe it is like a squashed ball.
  2. Oval Disc - (Picture two) an oval is like adisc but is longer on two sides. The best way to describe it is that it is like a cuttlefish shape.
  3. Round Disc - (Picture three) a round disc is the same shape as a disc but is fatter. It is not as flat as a disc and is shaped a bit more like an M&M sweet or a pebble. Although, these can be easily confused with the regular disc which has pointed sides, so watch out!

We hope that this makes it a bit clearer for you and you can now choose the shape that you want.
