Who Do We Help?
We do our best to help charitable organisations throughout the year.
At the current time we support Diverse Abilities Plus in Dorset on an ongoing basis. The charity is an independent, not for profit organisation working together with families to help meet the needs of local people, of all ages with physical and learning difficulties.
They are dedicated to supporting their needs today and the needs that they will have tomorrow, whilst enabling them to experience a lifetime of opportunities and challenges. They endeavour to achieve this through tailor-made programmes of support, developed according to the needs of the individual through every transitional stage of their lives and personal development.
Christmas 2015 saw us support a number of small local charities, that were recommended by our customers, by helping give them a crafty Christmas.
Winter 2014 saw us working with volunteers from a wonderful charity Postpals, who brighten the lives of sick children by sending them suprises in the post. We sent each of the children a festive craft box, filled with fun things for them to make with, or for, their families. We are happy to support this brilliant cause. You can see their blog post here.
This year we supplied cracker making collections for the kids groups at Diverse Abilities Plus, which were once again very well received. In addition, we also sent make your own cracker kits for the adults groups to complete and then use for the completed projects for fund raising activities.
We are delighted to continue supporting this local charity in a small way.
We have supported the Cross Gates & District Goods Neighbours Scheme with supplies for their Christmas Day dinner for the lonely and isolated elderley in their local area. We supplied all the tableware and also make-your-own crackers with accessories, which were made up in the craft sessions also hosted for these people in advance of the big day.
A terrific scheme, run on a day when so many of us forget those who are far less fortunate. Total respect to the group who run this and those running similar events around the country.
After we moved ot our new premises, we rounded up boxes and boxes of bit and pieces and were delighted that the groups at Diverse Abilities Plus were able to utilise these for such a great cause.
This is the first time we supported Diverse Abilities Plus and sent a massive selection of kids Christmas crafts for their kids groups to use. These were very well received and we know the kids loved all of the colour in crackers and puppets, as well as the other craft supplies.
The hand crafted thank you that we received was charming.
