Thrifty Christmas Card Making

We all save our Christmas cards and then never know what to do with them.....  We know that they make a great gift tag making activity for kids but what else can we use them for?

Simple - they are absolutely perfect for kids Christmas card making craft sessions - for both home and group craft sessions.

Just rip off and recycle the back and add some card blanks and supplies from your craft box (or our shop!) and you're away.....

From This to This....

We have reused the old Christmas cards shown above in the designs shown below, just to give you a feel for the type of card that children could make.

Mix and Match

Sentiments and images can be cut from different cards and used together to give a completely different look to the cards.

Mixed Ability

As with most craft activities, the end results will vary depending on the age and ability of the crafters.  Younger children will be able to create collage style cards, whilst older kids will be able to create complex cards with a quality finish.

However, they will all be gratefully received as little handy works from crafty kids.

Bookmarks

As an alternative to standard cards, why not make bookmarks in the same way, writing the Christmas greeting on the reverse.

ATCs

Unless you are a crafter yourself, you may not be familiar with ATCs.  These are essentially a mini sheet of card (not folded - just flat)used to make collectors cards to give to other crafters who collect them. 

However, as they are supplied with envelopes, they are perfect for kids to make unusual mini Christmas cards.
