 How to Make Your Own Dream Catcher

Look at this striking dreamcatcher.   It is a perfect craft for either girls or boys and is great for kids to make for Mother's Day or Valentines Day.

The crafters may simply keep it themselves because it's just too cute to give away! 

 A super craft for brownies or guides.  Perfect for a children's craft themed party or just great for kids home craft fun!  Ideal for bigger kids and adults too as there are unlimited combinations of colours, beads and feathers!  To make it a suitable craft for boys switch the colours to greens, blues and browns.

Remember to keep it simple for younger crafters.

Craft Supplies to Buy

Giant Chunky Pipe Cleaner (500mm)
Standard Pipe Cleaner
3mm Ribbon
Beads
Fluffy Feathers

Crafty Step by Step Instructions

1. Take the chunky pipe cleaner and shape into a circle and twist together the ends.
2. Take the other pipe cleaner and also shape into a circle twisting the ends together to form a smaller circle.
3. On a flat surface, place your smaller pipe cleaner circle inside your large circle pipe cleaner.
4. Take a long strand of 3mm ribbon and thread between the small and large pipe cleaner to form a star shape. 
5. Reshape the dreamcatcher pulling the ribbon taught to hold and secure the shape.  Tie a knot in the ribbon. 
6. Take another long strand of 3mm ribbon and weave around the centre circle adding beads as you go working your way back to the beginning of the ribbon and knot the ends to secure. 
7. Cut 4 more strands of ribbon of assorted lengths.
8. Thread some beads to the strands and knot or tie one end in place.
9. Tie these to the bottom of the dreamcatcher
10. Glue or tie feathers to the bottom of the strands to decorate.
11. Cut one small section of ribbon and tie in a hoop at the top of the dreamcatcher for hanging.
