Spaceman Glass Bauble Photo Frame Craft for Kids and Adults

This Spaceman photo bauble is a fun gift for Father's Day and a great craft for an adult and child to do together. This craft can be personalised to suit and you can make one, or a whole crew of astronauts, perfect for an outer space adventure.

You may also like to make our rocketship bauble idea or our space alien idea. They would all look great hanging together and create a unique space scene.

We would recommend the use of aprons and tablecovers for this craft due to the use of paint and glue.

We recommend that this kids craft is supervised and aided by an adult due to the use of glass and the complexity of some of the methods.

  1. Cut a piece of craft foam slightly larger than the glass bauble front opening. Apply silicone glue to the foam edges and glue to the inside of the front opening. This can be a little tricky and will require adult help.
  2. Paint a thin layer of glass glue on the outside of the glass bauble leave to dry. This creates a surface for acrylic paint to be applied to.
  3. Paint the egg using white acrylic paint . You may need more than one coat of paint for an even finish.
  4. Cut a spaceman body shape from the white thick craft foam . Glue to the bottom of the bauble, we used silicone glue.
  5. Next cut a semi circle of white craft foam and paint it with metallic titanium gold acrylic paint. This will be the spaceman's visor.
  6. Once the visor is dry, stick to the painted glass bauble either side of the front opening. We used double sided tape to do this.
  7. You can add detail to the spaceman using acrylic paint and permanent black marker.

Choose a great photo and cut it slightly bigger than the bauble opening, gently ease your photo into the front and now you have your own personalised spaceman! Make as many as you want and hang together using nylon thread for a family space crew adventure!
