What is Foam Clay, Silk Clay & Pearl Clay?

Foam Clay, Silk Clay & Pearl Clay are a fun way to create models and add texture to your craft projects. This non-toxic air drying clay is suitable for both adults and children and it can be used for a multitude of creative projects. The clay retains colour and size after drying, making it easy to sculpt fine details.

Foam Clay is a self hardening modelling material that contains small foam beads, giving texture to projects. Foam Clay dries at room temperature and it can easily stick to various materials such as papier-mâché, fabric and wood. Drying time for Foam Clay will vary from 1-3 days depending on the size and thickness of the model or project.

Silk Clay is a self hardening and flexible modelling material that dries with a soft and rubber like texture. It can even be used to make bouncy balls! Silk Clay also dries at room temperature. Drying time for Silk Clay will vary from 2-24hrs depending on the size and thickness of the model or project.

Pearl Clay is a new version of this self-hardening modelling compound that contains pearlescent plastic beads, ideal for covering and modelling around various items. Just knead and mix the transparent modelling compound with plastic beads in the buckets supplied. Then you can add to your project just like you would with Foam Clay and Silk Clay.

To add Foam or Silk Clay to a project just roll small balls of the clay, press them firmly onto the item and then use your fingers to smooth the surface. Both are available in a range of bright colours but new colours can created by kneading these together.

You can also roll the clay out onto a plastic bag and leave it to dry, allowing shapes to be punched or cut out from it once dry.

Clays should be stored in an airtight plastic container once opened but if the clay does dry up, just knead with a little bit of water to return the elasticity.
